7 Traits Of A Successful Blogger – Course Review

Like many bloggers, I have enrolled myself in many free eCourses which are designed to help up and coming bloggers achieve greater things with their blogs.  Whilst many courses cover the important aspects of getting set up online and setting up your blog, there are few which focus on the mentality and personality traits which may be useful to any prospective blogger.  A course which I found covered these important aspects of blogging is Thomas Sinfield’s, “7 Traits Of A Successful BloggerRead more »

Planning a new direction

I have been blogging for little over 2 months, and I have accumulated a serious amount of useful information.  I think this is something that happens to many bloggers, and is often a cause of so many failures.  It’s common that many people quit after not making any money, or getting any kind of regular visitors.  However, it is all to easy to learn so much and not know how to use it effectively.  The problem of being drowned by information is something I’m feeling at the moment.

Whilst I have a lot of other things going on, I am using my free time to think things through with the intention of drawing up some kind of plan to give this whole thing a black and white purpose and direction.

Friday Tweeters

As you may know from last week, I’m going to publish my list of top people who I follow on Twitter on Fridays.  If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll see the brief list.  Today I’m actually going to use a question I was asked to expand upon the post a little, and share some advice on using Twitter as well.  I have also included links to five articles which I have read this week that have been particularly useful.

How I make my readers feel valued

I recently wrote my first guest post at WebsiteBegin on “Why should I engage with my readers?“.  In the post I wrote about how it is particularly important to make your readers feel valued.  This is particularly important if you are blogging for business.  Readers are potential clients.  That aside, I finished the article the the question, how do you make your readers feel valued?

I used a number of methods, each of which I will discuss briefly here.  I have had some good successes with the methods too.  There is nothing fancy or difficult about it either.

Why I changed webhost from 1&1 to Host Gator

I recently wrote an article promoting the popular web hosting company 1and1, and it may seem a little silly given only a few days later I changed host.  I was never dissatisfied with the service I received from 1and1.  You’re probably wondering why I left?  They had an awesome commission set up, which I never used to good effect.  That wasn’t why I left.

I’m a firm believer in getting value for money.  I recently had a friend approach me for advice on what web host he should use for his company.  He had some requirements which were quite reasonable.  I recommended 1and1 – I was a happy customer, so why wouldn’t I?  He went away and thought about it, and did some research of his own, and he came back to me.  He said he could get better contracts elsewhere.  Fair enough, 1and1 wasn’t for everyone.

Month 2 Round up – markbell.me.uk

Today I bring to you the report for my second month for my blog.  It will be a brief report, but you’ll get everything you need from it.

The past month has been pretty hectic, I’ve tried to write daily, and that has gone well, except for the past few days – I’ve had a lot of stuff to do elsewhere.  Anyway, things have been progressing really well, and I’m quite pleased.  Onward and upward!
