Rank on Page 1 of Google – SEO Revenge Review

Over many years I have been developing a few websites, and I have managed to get ranked for some keywords – really specific keywords, which didn’t have much traffic.  Call it a fluke that I ranked at all!  However, I recently have learned a lot about search engine optimisation (SEO), and I now have  a much better understanding of what I’m actually doing to try and get ranked.

Does this sound like something you want to know about?  Do you want to rank on the first page of Google?  I’ll bet you do!  It’s a well known fact that the vast majority of search engine traffic visits websites on the first page of the results.  Furthermore, the most traffic goes to the first result, then exponentially drops with each search engine result position thereafter.  You need to maximise your exposure, and get on top those search results.  How did I do it?  SEO Revenge.  Read my review of this awesome eBook which offers a step-by-step guide to research keywords using FREE tools plus much more!

paper-bigger4In the past I have never really paid much attention to search engine optimisation.  Call it foolishness – I do.  Think about it – I have a website that I would like to make some sales through.  Without traffic – potential customers – I will not make sales.

Now, lots of the blogging tips to getting traffic are,

  • Social bookmarking
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Blog commenting
  • Guest posting
  • Forum signatures

These are all great ways to get traffic, but if you are wanting targeted traffic who are wanting answers to problems, then you need search engine traffic.  Why?  Search engine traffic is targeted.  Search engine traffic is much more likely to convert to a sale on your blog.

I was a little lost when it came to SEO, it was quite overwhelming.  I was approached by Dan Lew, who introduced his eBook, SEO Revenge.  Before I start into the material in the book, let me just say,

SEO Revenge is awesome!

SEO Revenge Review

SEO Revenge is an eBook by Dan Lew which teaches you how to target keywords, and optimise your website for these keywords.  Dan is an Australian entrepreneur with a background in marketing and website development.  He is a specialist in Business Management, and expert in SEO – with many years in the industry.

SEO Revenge Contents

The book is broken up into a few very manageable chunks.  It covers everything you need to know to have your website ranking on the first page of the Google search results.  Here’s what’s inside,

  • Search engines explained
  • Keyword research and on-page SEO
  • Link building (off-page SEO)
  • Tools and resources

The first chapter covers search engines.  Before you embark on optimising your website for a set of keywords, you need to know how the search engines work.  After all, you’re not going to be able to drive a car without knowing how the steering wheel, pedals and gear stick works.

The second chapter is without doubt my favourite.  SEO Revenge offers a comprehensive step by step method which allows you to use FREE tools to search for, and refine your list of keywords!  Like many other bloggers, the ability to spend money on professional software applications is not at my disposal.  In this chapter, Dan introduces, and discusses through a step-by-step guide, how to use FREE methods to analyse keywords, and reduce your list to a set of keywords which are not saturated but are receiving useful traffic each month!

SEO Revenge offers a comprehensive step by step method which allows you to use FREE tools to search for, and refine your list of keywords!

Link building, or off-page SEO, is without doubt the most important part of optimising your website for the search engines.  This chapter has been particularly useful!

The last chapters are sets of tools which allow you to automate the process using paid and free methods.  Dan also discusses how you can analyse your results.

SEO Revenge – Does it really work?

Yes!  Simply, yes!  Okay, I know if you’re reading this you want a little more meat (or veg!).  I decided to apply what I learned from SEO Revenge to two projects I am currently working on.  The first is a niche site, which is part of the Pat Flynn/Tyrone Shum niche site duel.  The second, is here, my blog, Bloggers Journal.

I have used the methods outlined in SEO Revenge to research keywords appropriate to the niche website I am building.  It has helped me build web pages which are useful to those who are searching for the terms I am aiming to rank for.  Of course, it can take time.  However, for my main keyword, at the time of writing this report, I am ranking #18 in the Google search engine results, out of some 400,000 results.  Not bad!

If that’s not enough.  I have used the methods laid out by SEO Revenge to rank my posts which track my niche site adventures.  You can learn more about my niche site development, if you wish – not before trying out SEO Revenge yourself, of course!

So the methods outlined have helped my topics here get ranked – and ranked high!  Again, as I write this, for the keyword phrase my articles are optimised for, I rank #2 out of over 4 million results!  That is seriously awesome in my opinion!

SEO Revenge – The Bottom Line

I’ve shown here that the SEO Revenge eBook provides some excellent resources and tips to getting your website to rank high on Google.  I’m up there myself as proof of it!  So what is the bottom line?  First, the question must be asked, is there anything I don’t like?  The only negative, if I’m being choosey, is that it takes a little while to play around with the timing settings to avoid the Google anti-spam filters.  I found that if I set the delay to 60s and a random time interval of 10s worked well.  On the plus side, and it’s important to note that SEO Revenge offers,

  • a FREE method to search for keywords
  • a FREE method to eliminate keywords with low traffic
  • FREE methods to develop backlinks to boost your website’s profile

I really recommend this product for anyone who is starting out, or even intermediate users who are maybe looking for a way to check through their exiting methods, in the odd chance they’ve left something out.  The book is very comprehensive, yet is a very handy size, at 40 pages – an easy read!

Why not check out SEO Revenge for yourself – purchase SEO Revenge – it’s well worth every penny!

    • Hey Antonio,
Thanks for dropping by – Dan’s a great guy, it’s good to get some more endorsements of this book.

  • Hey Mark, man I’m really tempted to make this purchase… I liked your review, and SEO is really intriguing me lately. I just am still at that place where I gotta try and learn it all for free! :-) (Call me cheap)… but if I ever do make the buy, I’ll flip back here and go through your link 4 sure!

    • Hey Daniel,
I’m glad you enjoyed the review! I can understand the need for information for free. I recommend you start out on Tom’s guest post here, How to write an SEO Rich Blog Post

  • Thanks for sharing. Just like Daniel I am a little cheap in regards to paying for SEO. I am new to blogging and just taking baby steps at the moment. I will bookmark your site for later reference. Thanks again for your information.

    Cheers

    • Hi David – that’s cool – check out the free post Tom has written on my blog on how to write an SEO Rich blog post. I’ve linked it in my comment here for you.

  • Mark!

Holy smokes man – is this the first review you have done?
In terms of a product review post – this one sets a whole new benchmark, and even though I already have SEO Revenge, it makes me want to go out and get it again LOL! Brilliant man.
Ok on to the actual content of the review (which rocked btw – did I tell you that? I think I should have, that’s for sure)
Really awesome to see you apply the lessons you learned in this ebook straight away – AND see results like that. Wow man – although it does not surprise the keyword blogger how effective the right research at the early stage can be to organic traffic ;) really stoked for you my friend.
Is that all natural too? as in you have not actively built backlinks on these new keywords? If so then that is even more impressive.

Talk soon Mark, and kudos again

    • Hey Alex
I built a few backlinks – but I’m having some issues with that – post to follow. The number of backlinks that I did could be counted on one hand lol

I’ve tried to focus a lot more on on-page SEO. I’m working on off-page at the moment.

  • Hi Mark
This is the second review I’ve read about SEO Revenge. The other one was inspired by your post if I remember correctly. I am in a small niche and relatively new to blogging and so far Google has been kind to me :-) probably cos I write regular posts(not many in my niche seem to) and post on lots of blogs where I am learning more about blogging.
When I eventually build mini niche sites this books sounds like a must read. Thanks for the great review

    • Hi Dino, thanks for dropping by!

  • I think it’s amazing how easy this really can be for people to do. But if you don’t first know what you are doing, it won’t make sense.

    • Hi Brian,
It really can be very easy, but I agree you need to at very least have everything thoroughly explained. Is there anything that you’d prefer I explained in more detail?

      Thanks,
      Mark

  • Such good information for a new guy. I am doing research as I build my knowledge base to begin this new business.
